🍂 Ms. Korie’s class took their learning outdoors today! 🎃 Students explored pumpkins up close — comparing how each one is alike or different, deciding if it’s a pumpkin or a gourd, and discovering how seeds can be saved to plant next year. They discussed colors, growth, the fibrous insides, and all the fun ways pumpkins can be used — from baking pies and breads to decorating for fall! 🍁

Meet Gunnar! He has been working hard to stay focused and on task in ELA—and it’s paying off! He was the only third grader at Strayhorn Elementary to score a perfect score during Benchmark Boot Camp. Gunnar has set a goal each week to grow and improve on his cold read tests, and he nailed it!
As a bonus, he was one of the very first students to use our class vending machine thanks to the growth he’s shown. Way to go, Gunnar—we’re so proud of you! #TogetherAchievingTeamExcellence
